I used to think life had meaning, purpose, and logic. Then I read The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy and realized the universe is just one big bureaucratic mess where dolphins are smarter than us, towels are essential survival tools, and the answer to everything is… 42. Honestly, it made me stop taking things too seriously. Now, whenever life throws chaos at me, I just whisper, “Don’t panic,” and move on.

Before reading Meditations(Marcus Aurelius), I used to get frustrated over trivial things—traffic, emails, slow Wi-Fi. But this book made me understand that external events don’t disturb us, our perception of them does. Marcus Aurelius, an emperor with a ridiculous amount of stress, still found time to reflect and practice Stoicism. If he could handle running an empire with barbarian invasions, I can probably handle Monday mornings.

Man’s Search for Meaning – Viktor E. Frankl (Expert Insight)

This book completely redefined my understanding of suffering and purpose. Frankl, a Holocaust survivor, argues that even in the worst circumstances, finding meaning in suffering gives us strength. It made me stop complaining about minor inconveniences and start asking, “What meaning can I create from this situation?” Instead of dreading challenges, I now see them as opportunities for growth. Life-changing.

The Alchemist – Paulo Coelho. I used to be skeptical of the whole “follow your dreams” philosophy, but The Alchemist changed that. It reinforced the idea that the universe conspires to help those who pursue their true calling. After reading it, I quit my dull corporate job and started my own business. Sure, it wasn’t easy, but the journey is what shapes us, not just the destination.

"The universe conspires to help you"—unless it’s Monday morning, then it just wants you to suffer)))

I used to think the world was logical. Then Catch-22 showed me how absurd everything truly is. The bureaucracy, the hypocrisy, the never-ending paradoxes—it’s all there. Now, whenever I deal with corporate nonsense or government paperwork, I just smile and think, “Ah, another classic Catch-22 moment.” It’s both hilarious and terrifying how relevant this book still is.

Reading Catch-22 in school: “This is exaggerated nonsense.” Reading Catch-22 as an adult: “Ah, so it’s a documentary.

Thinking, Fast and Slow – Daniel Kahneman! This book shattered my illusion of being a rational thinker. Kahneman explains how our brains are basically running on outdated software, relying on cognitive biases and shortcuts. It made me more skeptical of my own decisions, more aware of irrational fears, and surprisingly better at negotiating. Now, instead of trusting my gut, I ask myself: “Is this System 1 or System 2 thinking?”
